Johnnie Lee Jr.,B.B.S., M.A./CE
Pastor Johnnie Lee Jr. is a native Houstonian, who was raised in a Christian home and was saved in 1979, shortly after attending two years at Lon Morris Jr. College in Jacksonville, TX. Returning to Houston while being employed with Dresser Industries Inc. as a Senior Computer Operator, he was called to the ministry in 1980, preaching his first sermon in July of 1981 at Pentecostal Temple C.O.G.I.C.
Continually growing in grace, knowledge, and wisdom over the next 8 years while serving God faithfully, Pastor Johnnie again received the call from the Lord, this time to pastoral ministry, and he planted a non-denominational Bible church: Victory in Jesus Evangelistic Center Church in the family room of his home in October of 1989. Realizing the need to be better equipped as a leader to lead, teach, and preach the Word of God, Johnnie returned to school, attending the College of Biblical Studies Houston, TX, where he earned a Bachelor of Biblical Studies degree, was selected as student class speaker, and graduated with highest honors in 2002.
Pastor Johnnie presently serves as senior pastor and Bible Expositor at VIJEC and Exec Director of Triumph Christian Academy. He is the Vice President of (IMPACT) Interdenominational Minister & Pastors Achieving Community Transformation; he has mentored and counseled young pastors with church planting in the Houston area and has previously served for two years as a Regent on the Board of the College of Biblical Studies Houston, TX.
In seeking to impact the Hiram Clarke community throughout Southwest Houston and the city at large, Pastor Johnnie led the Victory church family through its first million-dollar community development building project, successfully completing and dedicating an 11,110 square feet Victory Community Center. The center offers an Early Childcare Development Center, Triumph Christian Academy (TCA), ideal for infant and child care needs and early education for toddlers/pre-k. It also offers banquet rental and meeting space, skating for the youth, and a loving family atmosphere for worship and teaching the Word of God.
Pastor Johnnie authored his first book “Designing, Implementing and Maintaining an Administrative Model for the Church”, a research workbook tool for start-up churches. He has been happily married to his loving wife, Debra, for 35 years. Together, they have a daughter, Chelsea, who serves as Director of Triumph Christian Academy and Worship Leader for the church, and two sons, Lante and Gary, who also work in the ministry.
